Sunshine Music House Scholarships

1A High School Senior

Sunshine Music House is delighted to provide five scholarships of $500 each to the top academic band students in the state of Georgia for 1A public high schools, Region 4 and 5.

Requirements:
Student must attend a Georgia public high school that is designated as 1A in Region 4 and 5.
Application must include a letter from the high school band or music director that confirms the student is the top academic student in band and indicates the student's weighted GPA.
Student must be graduating in the current year.
Scholarships applications must be received between April 1st and May 30th. Scholarships are awarded by check to the student in July or earlier each year.
Scholarships are awarded based on highest weighted GPA; strength of Band Director letter; date of receipt; and student essay.
Student or parent, if the student is under age of 18, agrees that the student's name will be listed for news release in print and online media.

College Sophomore, Junior, Senior Scholarship

Sunshine Music House is delighted to provide three scholarships of $500 each to college students that were previously awarded 1A High School Senior scholarships.

Requirements:
Student must be enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior at an accredited college or technical school.
Application must include student's most recent transcript.
Scholarship applications must be received between June 1 and August 1. Scholarships are awarded by check to the student in September or earlier each year.
Scholarships are awarded based on highest weighted GPA; date of receipt; and student essay.
Prior recipients of the SMH College scholarship are eligible.
Student or parent, if the student is under age of 18, agrees that the student's name will be listed for news release in print and online media.

High School/Middle School Instrument Grant

Sunshine Music House is delighted to provide 10 grants of $100 each for band fee or instrument purchase for a financially challenged student at a Georgia public middle or high school that is designated as 1A, Region 4 and 5.

Requirements:
Application must include a letter from the middle or high school band or music director that confirms a student needs assistance with band/music fees or purchasing an instrument.
Grant applications must be received between August 1 and March 30. Grants are awarded by check to the school band program throughout the school year. A band director may request more than one grant during the school year. However, a separate application is required for each request.
Grants are awarded based on strength of Band Director request and date of receipt.
Do not include the name of student in request.
